WInter doesn't slow us down at St. Paul's. Sunday, February 7th is New Member Sunday and Souper Bowl Sunday. We invite all those who are interested in who are interested in joining St. Paul's to contact the church office before the 7th. Souper Bowl Sunday? No, not a typo this time. On the 7th, our youth group, the SPY's will be collecting financial donations after the services to raise money for a local homeless shelter. Souper Bowl Sunday is a national fundraiser that coincides with Super Bowl Sunday.
Sunday, February 14th, has a lot packed into it. Of course most of us recognize it as Valentine's Day.It is also Transfiguration Sunday. Between the two services we will be celebrating Valentine's Day, our loving God, and our wonderful congregation with a Valentine's Day Breakfast. We invite members and guests alike to come between 9:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. to feast and socialize with us. Contact the office to RSVP or sign-up in the Great Room when you are at church next.
The 14th is also Blanket + Sunday. The Good Works Project Team is collecting financial donations to purchase blankets for those around the world who are in need of extra warmth and shelter. Blankets to those who live out on the street, to those who live in make-shift tents, to those who are suddently displaced from their homes due to a natural disaster can make the difference of life and death. They ask for your aupport on the 14th.
On Tuesday, the 16th, we invite the talented and the not so talented to join us on-stage or in the audience for a Fundraiser for Haiti Talent Show in Fellowship Hall from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Contact Sister Jennie Meyers at 215-884-3005 to sign-up as part of the show. Please bring a dessert to share as we enjoy Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras indulgences. (This writer is particular to chocolate.)
On Wednesday the 17th, we begin the season of Lent with two worship services - at noon and 7:30 p.m. We welcome invite members of St. Paul's and members of the community to begin this period of preparation for Easter with us for one of these services.
On Saturday the 20th the Elizabeth Circle invites you to participate in a Winter Quilt Day in Fellowship Hall from 8:00 to 4:00. The cost is $15.00 with a light breakfast and lunch included. Sign-up forms are on the welcome cart in the Great Room. This is a great opportunity to finish a project, start a new one or share your projects with others. Starting February 24th, Wednesday evenings during Lent St. Paul's hosts Lenten Soup Suppers at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Come eat dinner before the 7:30 p.m. Lenten Holden Evening Prayer Worship Service.
Join us for a New Member Potluck Supper on Saturday, February 27th. All members who have joined St. Paul's since February 2009 are being asked to come as our guests of honor. We invite our members out for an evening of fellowship. Not a member of St. Paul's. Come out anyway and get to know us. Contact the office or sign-up in the Great Room to RSVP.
Maybe in March we will need to start exercise classes to counteract all of these food oriented activities...
